Leila M. Allen, Ph.D.
Founder of the Miami Neuroscience Foundation
Dr. Leila M. Allen is an Associate Teaching Professor and the Founding Director of the Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Neuroscience program in the Department of Psychology at Florida International University (FIU). She conducts cutting-edge research in the Neurocircuitry and Cognition Laboratory, collaborating with the Porcine Neuroscience Facility to develop a pig model for translational neuroscience and Alzheimer’s disease research.
Dr. Allen holds two patents for RatHat, a 3D-printable brain implant system revolutionizing stereotaxic methods. Her commitment to education and innovation has earned her recognition as a Faculty Senate Excellence in Teaching Award recipient and a Top Scholar for Teaching Scholarship in 2022.
